Love for my son
As I worked on preparing dinner last night, I quietly (okay maybe not too quietly!) observed Jesse and Taeden working on his Native American project for school my heart was beaming with pride. Taeden had a visit to the dentist where he was told he had zero cavities! Did I mention he will shortly be turning NINE years old. Man, I am pretty sure I had half a mouth full of cavities by that age (nothing to be proud of, but limited adult supervision and guidance people!!) Taeden's main chore is to walk our beagle Sally. As I stood in our kitchen and looked out the back door. I saw my little man running with Sally and he looks so darn big. My heart sang, he is such a great kid. He is so thoughtful and loving, well-behaved, straight A student - how lucky am I! I love the fact that when I mentioned Christmas will be small so we can save for Disneyland his response was, "that is fine, I don't really need anything, but Santa can still get me some things!" The best part about this is I think he is beginning to question the reality of Santa. Slowly but surely my little boy is becoming a big boy. He has stopped sleeping with "Julia", his stuffed animal my sister gave him when he was three. He took that to every sleep over he had until he was five years old, maybe longer. As time has gone by, Julia has not been forgotten, but has been dressed up in a dress that was originally bought for our dog Sally, and has found a pretty permanent spot in the bin. (pictures soon to come, if I can figure out how to add!) So, whenever I get upset about something superficial or annoyed about my job, really all I have to do is think about what a great son I have. Taeden, I love you more than you will ever know!

The Camera.
Oh how I want to learn how to take beauiful photos, post them to my facebook, blog, and be able to gift them to my loved ones. I got exactly what I asked for when I wanted the Canon T2i Rebel, thinking I would instantly become some amazing photographer-yeah right! What I didn't realize was how complicated and time consuming it would be just to learn how to work the darn thing. Not to mention how complex the software for the editing is. Whatever happened to keeping it simple? Ya know, like aim and shoot! (this is not me giving up, by the way!) Maybe I just get overwhelmed to easy, or maybe I have too high of expectations of myself. but then again, what happened to "keeping it simple?" So, I have decided I will do that with the remainder of my day off work, Keep it simple.

New inspiration
I had a hard time falling asleep last night. After doing a little Christmas shopping, coming home at 9:30p.m with what looked like I had won a shopping spree, and still surging with plenty of energy. Jesse, exhausted from a hard days of work and his effort of Taeden's constant need to talk, referred to my unexplained energy as my "shopping high". I didn't comment because at the time I was pretty excited about how much shopping I completed, but little did he know my "high" was coming from the storm of ideas brewing in my head due to starting up this whole blog thing. Once I finally stuffed away all the bags of goodies from Santa, settled into bed next to my exhausted husband whom was snoring and drooling before I could get comfortable. My head was swimming with questions of "where should I start?", "what am I trying to convey to my readers? -if I have any", do I really like the "title of my blog?", and as I slowly drifted away I still had so little answers. But isn't that life!
This morning, I decided to give credit where credit is due. I have been inspired to start a blog because of the reading I have come to so much enjoy by Kelle Hampton. http://www.kellehampton.com/ . Talk about a beautiful writer, photography that captures the heart, and inspires to do the same! I hope mine can become at least half as enjoyable!
And so this is the beginning for me, blogging anyway.
